What is EmployJoy?
We're an AI-native staffing agency built for the cleaning industry. You tell us what you need — role, pay rate, location, start date — and within a few days we deliver a shortlist of pre-screened candidates predicted to stay. You interview them and choose who to hire. We handle the rest.
How are you different from a traditional staffing agency?
Two big ways. First, the economics: we charge a flat per-hire fee, not a retainer or 15–25% of annual wages. Second, the tooling: we use AI to screen every applicant and predict who actually stays past 90 days. Same outcome (you get candidates), better numbers and faster.
How are you different from job boards like Indeed or ZipRecruiter?
Job boards put your post in front of applicants and stop there — you sort through 200 résumés on your own. We do the screening, scoring, and follow-up, then deliver only the candidates worth your time. We replace your sourcing work, not just your job posting.
What roles do you place?
Cleaning industry hourly hires: cleaners, janitorial leads, hotel housekeepers, commercial crews, day porters, and similar shift-based roles. We don't do salaried corporate hires or industries outside cleaning — that focus is what makes our screening and retention models work.
From brief to first shift.
How does the process actually work?
You tell us what you need (role, pay, location, start date) — by email, phone, or the brief box on our homepage. We confirm details with you, post the role, and start screening applicants. Within 3–7 days we deliver a pre-screened shortlist with AI scores. You interview and decide who to hire.
How long does it take to get a shortlist?
Three to seven days from when we have your full brief. The exact timing depends on the labor market in your city — we're faster in markets with deeper applicant pools and slightly slower in tight ones. We tell you what to expect upfront.
How many candidates will I see?
A focused shortlist sized to the role — typically a handful, not a fire hose. If you need more, we deliver another batch at no extra charge. You only pay when you actually hire someone we delivered.
What if none of the first five are right?
We send another batch. You don't owe anything until you hire from one. No "you must interview all of them" rules — pass on whoever isn't a fit, give us the reason if you have one, and we use that to refine the next round.
What happens after I pick someone to hire?
We coordinate the handoff: confirming the start date, sending the formal offer details, helping with onboarding documentation if you need it. Once they complete their first shift, you're billed the per-hire fee.
What it costs, and what's protected.
How much does it cost?
Two stages tied to outcomes. A $500 placement fee when your hire completes their first shift, and a $1,000 success fee at the 90-day retention milestone. Total of $1,500 per 90-day-retained hire, regardless of the role's salary. No setup fees, no per-seat charges, no contracts.
When do I pay?
In two parts. The placement fee is invoiced once your hire completes their first shift. The success fee is invoiced on day 90 of their employment, only if they're still on your team.
What if they quit in week 4?
You owe only the placement fee. The success fee is waived because they didn't hit 90 days, and we deliver a replacement at no additional charge. The placement fee carries over to the replacement — you don't pay it twice.
Why split the fee into two stages?
Because a hire who quits in week 4 isn't the outcome you're paying for. Tying the bigger part of our fee to 90-day retention keeps our incentives aligned with yours: we make most of our money when your hire actually sticks. It also keeps your up-front cost low while we earn it over the next 90 days.
Are there volume discounts?
Yes. Three or more hires in a single batch, or ten or more over a year, both unlock meaningful discounts on the success fee. Tell us your projected hiring volume and we'll quote.
How we communicate, and what we don't make you do.
Do I have to log in to a platform?
No. When your shortlist is ready, we email you a link. You click it, view your candidates, and take action — schedule interviews, pass, request more — all without creating an account or learning new software.
How do I communicate with your team?
Email or phone, whichever you prefer. We assign a single ops contact who knows your business, your hires, and your preferences. You won't get bounced between five different reps.
Can my whole team see the shortlist, or just me?
Whoever you forward the link to can see it. We don't charge per user, and there's no login to gate access. If you want a hiring manager or team lead to weigh in, they get the same view you do.
How we handle candidate and company data.
How do you handle candidate data?
Candidates explicitly consent to having their information shared with the hiring company before they appear on any shortlist. We don't sell their data, share it with third parties outside the placement, or repurpose it for marketing.
Can I see how the AI scores candidates?
Yes. Every score on your shortlist comes with the factors that drove it — experience match, predicted retention, language fit, geographic distance, and others. No black boxes. If you disagree with the AI, you override it.
